Grounds and Rounds
Master Classes for Baroque Recorder Players and Auditors
Monday Evenings, July 11 - August 1 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
The Summer Institute features the abundant repertoire of Rounds and Grounds for recorders with our without continuo in four master classes for recorder players and auditors. We will play rounds, grounds and sometimes both at the same time. A wide range of national styles will be represented including English, French, German and Italian music examples. Sessions will include Dutch recorder exercises, plus arrangements of Purcell, Brade, Schein and others for soprano through bass recorder consort. Class participants will present an informal recital on August 1. The Institute is open to high school and college students, adult participants and auditors.
