Our season opening concert presents Gail Ann Schroeder and Jean Hein as soloists in Telemann’s gorgeous Concerto for Recorder and Viola da Gamba. The program includes Couperin’s exotic Italianate sonata, “La Sultane," featuring gambas and violins. Two of Telemann’s sacred cantatas sung by Brittnee Siemon plus works by Leclair and Finger complete this beautiful program.

Columbia Baroque is a professional chamber ensemble in Columbia, SC comprised of leading Baroque music specialists from South Carolina and North Carolina, each with distinguished careers as chamber musicians, soloists and educators. Ensemble members include Jean Hein, Baroque recorder; Mary Hostetler Hoyt, Baroque violin; Erika Cutler, Baroque violin; Brittnee Siemon, mezzo-soprano; Gail Ann Schroeder, viola da gamba; and Jerry Curry, harpsichord.

Our mission is: Bringing Baroque music to life for the modern audience through education and historically inspired performance
